Board of Directors
Glenda Maldonado
Founder, Chief Executive Officer
Glenda leads with her heart and will do anything in her power to help a person in need. Her personal philosophy is that life is abundant in re-dos and try-agains. She offers constant and consistent support to the women in her life: the ones before her, beside her, and the women she mentors. She is a loving mother of three with several, sweet and zesty grandchildren. There is never any judgement with Glenda. She will wipe the dirt right off of you and help you to the next step.
Joanna Coburn
Co-founder, Secretary and Treasurer
Joanna’s passion lies in giving back to others, connecting with people and making them feel seen and heard. She is a genuine person with a love for language, education, and self-development. She works persistently to organize our board’s annual goals and connect with others to make an impact in society. Joanna is a great friend to have and a loving wife and mother. Her personal motto: there’s no kindness too small - in fact, a small kindness goes a lot farther than you could imagine.
Tamara Harrison
Co-founder, At large, Event Chair
Tamara is full of passion and a deep desire to inspire women to lean into themselves and follow their hearts’ content. She is engaging, welcoming, loving and an incredible friend, mother, sister, and wife. There is always joy and fun to be had when Tamara is around. She is a deep soul with a flare for enhancing every moment with creativity and joy. Tamara’s dream would be to give every person a safe space to be loved and nurtured to their full potential.
Beata Navarro
Co-founder, At large, Fundraiser Chair
Beata is DO-er. She will figure out a way to be kind and helpful to any person in need no matter what she has going on in her life. She loves the simple things and cherishes her friends, family and the people she works with. Beata streamlines any idea the board comes up with to make it most effective and most intriguing to our supporters. Her end goal is always to be efficient with time and resources and to help as many people as possible. A dedicated and engaged mother and wife, Beata puts charity work on a pedestal for one reason: to inspire her daughter to help others.
Alexis Lopez
Co-founder, At large, Public Outreach Chair
If Alexis could be summed up in one word it would be “love.” She is quite simply the kindest and most open hearted person anyone could know. She has an extra soft spot for animals and the elderly. Before co-founding CES, Alexis would make weekly trips to take donations to the youth shelter in LA and volunteer her time to connect with homeless adolescents. She makes weekly stops to check in on her family members and is consistently supportive and encouraging to the people around her. Her zany personality is matched with a brain for business, and her contributions to the board range from speaking at women’s empowerment conferences to hanging spider webs at our Annual Witches’ Ball. Alexis is a loving friend, sister, daughter and auntie. Her commitment to help others stems from a sense of oneness with humanity and a love for her dearest friends.
